| Comments: | The bouys were looking rather sad all day. My only hope for waves was to just try to hit up some beachbreak that could suck in some windswell in the afternoon. I decided to perform this mission around sunset at a spot I have never surfed. Me and a pack of ravenous 14 olds heralded in the ending of the weekend by trading off on small junky waves. It was awesome. I had heard about high bacteria levels so I tried to close my mouth as much as possible, and thus far I am alive. The great thing about having zero expectations for a session is that you usually have a great time. I was just hoping for anything that was rideable and i was hooting as the waves just seemed to get better and better with stuff coming in at chest high at times (on the 15 year old kids). Most of my waves were pretty smiliar. A knee to waist high right that I'd be slow on getting up on where I'd head down the line untill it closed out. I'd try to perform a nice little floater at the end but 100% of the time I ended up eating it. My lefts were stylistic backside railgrabs where I was hunched down and trying to get barrelled on waves that weren't barrelling. It was great. Soon a few guys came out that weren't 15 years old and the vibe changed. Instead of a bunch of rug rats hooting and hollaring at each and every wave we had very serious faces and ripping and slashing and never a smile. Half of my new found 15 year old friends resorted to ditching their boards on the beach and chasing the other half with sticks as they came by on waves. Now that is surfing. | ||
