Comments:   The waves were apparently only going to get worse all week, so a Monday session was required no matter how loud the bosses bark. A holiday for most people I knew I'd have some lunchtime company in the water. Indeed, the same pack of kids I surfed with on Friday were out there again. My conversation with one of them:

Pope: Got today off too, eh?
Grom: Yeah
Pope: That's gotta rule!
Grom: Yeah, it's presidents day
Pope: Why did you have Friday off then?
Grom: Another presidents day
Pope: Man, we need more presidents

Said ripster then proceed to find power in waves where I was bogging and in general looking like a complete kook. Actually there were some fun waves out there. A few had enough power to knock me around which felt great. Best wave was a left I went backside on with a rail grab looking for a barrell. My barrell quest ended and as it was about to shut down I hit the lip....and.....was going to have a lovely float...wham...i..ate it.
