Comments:   Headed out solo with intentions of meeting Kristi and Bill out there. Started at the point and was having a blast on some steep takeoffs. People were pushing each other deeper and deeper into the rock ledge. Good times. A couple of shortboarders actually were surfing in front of the West most ledge, straight in front of the house. The barrells there were some of the widest I've ever seen. These guys were for sure on the edge of getting sucked into the rocks. One eventually stayed in too long and got sucked into the rocks. Afterwards, as he was paddling out, a wave came, sucked up and left him paddling on dry land.

Pretty soon the tide started dropping and the ledge started to rear it's head more and more. This divided the lineup into two groups. Ones who were willing to takeoff in front of the ledge and stay high as dry rock was exposed, and ones who hung on the shoulder and picked off the post-ledge waves. I started in group 1 but soon converted to group 2 after realizing my board was brand new and I don't get paid much money.

Soon I saw Kristi and Bill in front of the Block House so i started surfing with them. We had a great time talking about the stock market and trading waves and forgetting about the crowds at the point. I had to go to work for the man so I bid them goodbye and caught one in. Fun day.
