Comments:   Picked up Greggory at UCSB for some Campus Point fun. After getting crushed the last few days at beachbreaks I needed some point surfing. I have not been to Campus Point since this summer, so it was quite a shock to surf with so many people. I actually didn't know that bodyboarding was still a sport until I headed out there. I can't believe how many bodyboarders were out there. We had shortboarders, longboarders and bodyboarders. A zoo. Greg rode a longboard and was easily kicking my butt on wave-count but I still had fun, albeit my arms are tired from competing with longboarders.

My best wave of the day was a smaller chest high one that I caught at poles and headed down to the rocks. Some nice little sections to race against and some lips to hit. The bigger waves I caught just didn't pan out for me. I'm just not a crowd surfer. I was paddling out after a wave and was about to punch through a big set wave that came thru. An old longboarder was thinking of taking it which was crazy cause he was way late. He realized his error but managed to distract me enough such that my duck-dive was not 100% authentic. I thought I punched thru the lip but I didn't and it sucked me down, down, down. I popped up next to said longboarder who I guess got sucked over too when he tried to pull out. Weird.

Greggory and I ended up our session by starting to catch waves all the way down to Goleta Beach. This took about 20 minutes and we had some fun ones. I had a thigh high one that must have lasted forever. The further we surfed down the more the waves started to wall out and I tried to get covered up a few times. Ended up surfing all the wave thru A-bay and down to Goleta Beach. A first for me. The sunset was glorious. Day 7 in a row of absolutely glorious weather and waves. Insane.
