| Comments: | Stupidly, I left my wetsuit hanging to dry at home which meant no lunch session for me. The swell was building all day and I had to drive downtown to get my wetsuit and go out before dark. Once accomplished, where to go when it's 4:00 and you are downtown? I headed for the Montecito Coast where i figured it might be pretty fun. It was fun, but the wind was making it weird. I ended up shortboarding a little point that I've only longboarded before. It was crowded and the current was wicked. I caught some really fun long waves that just kept going and going, but paddling back was a chore. Saw photographer Brandon Arroyan out there, shredding the scene with his hood pulled down. A couple of good longboarders out there too but the waves were pretty shifty so no one person was dominating the spot. Got totally dropped in on by a longboard girl. She even looked back at me, twice, but kept on going. Getting out of my suit there was a little arguement behind me. Two guys were arguing cause one dropped in on the other. The guy who dropped in was saying that he thinks the drop in rule is stupid, we should all just ride waves. He offered that he never cares if someone drops in on him, and he even invited it. I wish I could remember what he looked like, cause that could be good future knowledge. | ||
