| Comments: | Super Bowl Sunday. After several recon trips I finally surf a new place for me. Was hoping people would be drinking beer and watching football but I wasn't thinking the the tide was real low. A perfect, low key day though. Managed to paddle out and there was a big clump of people out. I didn't know the break nor the people so I'm pretty cautious at first. Then, for some reason on the first set I end up deeper then the pack and take off on a set wave. A really fun wave but I think a major local guy was irked I "back paddled" him. I honestly hate when that happens to me and I would be pissed if some new punk came out and pulled that on me, but....it just kind of happened. Sorry buddy. After that I was more cautious and waited to climb to the top of the lineup but soon I was the only guy out. I couldn't explain it. It was getting smaller and smaller but there were still some head high waves every now and again. Perhaps my best wave was right after the last guy paddled in. A shoulder to head high gem that just raced down the line for a long while and then sectioned up and I pulled in to get covered by a glorious green sheet of water. After that with no one out I couldn't sit right in the lineup, too far in or too far out. Then several other people came out and I could nail it again but by then I was pooped. All in all a great super bowl session. | ||
