Blah. A weak surfing month for the pope. It started out strong with some surprisingly fun waves in strange places, such as along the Montecito Coast of all places. Forecasters were calling for some south swell but everything I saw up here was excellent windswell out of the NW. The 4th of July was speant in Santa Monica with Mank, a gloriously small session to start a great day. I then hit up another fun day along the Mesa, but my nipples were so worn from trunkin it in LA that I only lasted a short while.
After that it was all downhill. Work was crazy and the waves were small so I only saw some longboarding on the weekends down south. Nice fun mornings of longboarding, but nothing regular during the week. July was perhaps my most un-surfed months since I started keeping the logs in October. Things can only get better.
A mere 9 sessions. 5 on the longboard. 4 on the shortboard. Surfline's July Report isn't up as of posting, but will be in about 3 weeks.
