Comments:
There has been absolutely no waves up here for the last few days, and none were predicted for several more days. I was thinking of heading to Santa Monica for a friends Birthday so figured I'd see if there were any waves down south. I didn't see a single wave the whole way but figured I'd pull up to County Line for a look. 4 kids out at the reef and 1 guy further south. It was cold and windy and getting dark, and looked like crud. I went anyway. But the time I suited and got down there the one guy was gone so I took over his spot. I paddled out during a set and got my hopes up, there were lefts just marching down the beach, almost thigh high.
By the time I paddled out I managed to spin around and catch the last wave of the set. It would be my best wave of the session. A super fast left breaking in 2' of water that sucked up and threw me down. Oh, these waves aren't breaking very far out. After that I caught about 3 or 4 more waves all of which closed out and dumped in very shallow water. I figured I'd accomplished my goal of getting wet, and decided against risking any injuries in the shorebreak with no one around.
