An identical trip as yesterday. Stopped and stared at Rincon forever trying to go out, but I couldn't make much out of it. Continued south and it looked OK at a few spots, but since I had a such a fun time yesterday, I figured I'd head out once again at the same spot. A little less crowded, but with the same faces still out there owning it. I started a bit further north this time, out of everybody's way. Got a few nice waves off the bat on a peak that closed out a little too early. Then as things started to thin out I was more on top of the reef with a few others. Traded waves forever with 3 other guys. We had some ok chemistry going where everyone was getting enough waves.
I had two memorable waves. The first was my biggest wave of the day, or the month, it was a head high wave that was fast and pitching out. I dug in and grabbed my railand tried to get slotted going left. It pitched out, but not over me and I ended up in the flats. I made it back to the face in time to hit the lip on the closeout. Fun. Another smaller one I stuck it out in the pocket but got taken out by the lip. I heard a huge loud boom as I was inside the wave as it closed out. Awesome. My last wave of the day was fun also, a chest high wave similiar to my biggest wave where I was trying to race down the line. It started to pitch out and I should have stuck it out....but I wussed it and headed for the flats and took it in.
Didn't see anbody get barrelled, which is surprising since I saw so many barrells. A super fun session followed by a beer and homemade burrittos.
