Comments:
Finally another saturday dawn session with Unkle and Steve. Hadn't surfed with Steve since he got his longest ride ever about a month ago. Surf looked flat but there was no question we were heading out. But on full suits but shoulda chosen the springsuits, yes it's that time of year. We hung out a small little peak that would pop up every now and then. The rides weren't long, but the waves were so soft and glassy you just wanted meld with them. This was tough if your a kook like me, but we tried our best. I caught a couple of longer ones but most of mine were short. Unkle and Steve were more successfull at getting the long rides. Unkle tried to pull out of a late takeoff but instead got sucked over with his board. That was the best moment.
A think a pod of dolphins came by. I'm realizing that I see dolphins more often then I don't see dolphines, so I wonder if it's even worth mentioning. Haven't seen many sea lions in the lineup lately though. I saw so many dolphins this weekend on the 6 times I either surfed or headed to the beach to jump in the water. I think I saw dolphins every one of those 6 times. Only saw 1 dead sea lion all weekend, so the Domoic Acid may be on it's way out. Was a lot of kelp in certain places, most likely dying off cause of the rising sea temperature. I'm not expert.
Afterwards we took Steve to Art's for his Birthday.
