Comments:
Morning #2 of the Pismo longboarding session only today we left about 3 hours later and K-dog joined us on the Doyle. I rode the magic model and Bill commanded his Stewert thru the Pismo junk. It looked like garbage as we were heading out there since the wind had already picked up but we managed to have a good time. The swell was obviously from the south as you could see it marching up the beach from the Dunes. The lefts were then the choice of most, and they held up better than usual for Pismo. We actually caught some long ones into the sand, without the whole wave sucking up and dumping.
About half way in K-dog was doing some serious shreading on the Doyle and her leash broke. This is the point in the story when I rip on Ocean and Earth leashes. Her leash broke in the exact same place that my Ocean and Earth leash broke a few months ago. Now, you could of course call us kooks for even wearing leashes, but that's another story entirely. After my Ocean and Earth leash broke, I went and bought a Pro-Lite and it's been holding up nicely. The Ocean and Earth leashes seem to break on the board side, where the swivel gets sewn into the piece that attaches to your board via Velcro. This is a flawed design, and those cats are not receiving any more of my
business.
After the loose board had mowed down about 18 Bakersfield kids playing in the shallows (good thing it was a Doyle), Bill tied a nice knot for K-dog and we were back out powering thru some slop. We all got a few more but afterawhile it was obvious we were tired and ready for some breaky. Back at the house, the sun came out for the first time all weekend.
