Comments:   Busted outta work and headed downtown for some variety. Was hoping for some beachbreak action around dusk that hopefully would clean up from the wind. Mesa was the target, sort of hoping the bluffs would block some wind. That wasn't really the case as it was plenty windy, and even if it wasn't at sunset, the water was pretty messed up from the wind all day. The waves were fun, some good size and juice and an occaisional clean section. Water did not seem as cold as it has been up in Goleta. I surfed with two other guys for some time, trading either bigger waves filled with chaos or the smaller waves that had a bit more workability to them. It was one of my more fun sessions in awhile, it's just nice to surf somewhere different for once.

I kinda miss not living on the Mesa anymore. It was in full summer mode. Runners, bikers, walkers, a real community that's away from the tourists and all that stuff. Quite, mellow, and friendly folk.
