| Comments: | Was going to try to catch some more fun mesa action on Sunday evening but the places I was checking just didn't look good. So I headed to Goleta to work and figured I'd check up there first. It didn't look that good either but it was sunny and warm and it seemed like a good way to cap a busy weekend. There was other kid out there, a guy I see out there all the time, he's real good. It was one of those sessions that's so small that you stand up in the lineup sometimes cause you feel so stupid sitting on your board waiting for the next 2' roller to come through. Every now and then a decent wave would come in. I went left mostly since those seemed to not close out as much. It was more of a barrell quest than anything. It felt good but it's tough to work 6' into a 2' wave. Soon it was just be out there floundering all by myself but the beach community there was still raging. Tailgaiting and bonfires and tents and all sorts of chaos that is worlds away from MesaLand. When I got out of the water I saw the group of little groms that I always see owning it. They had established for themselves quite a bit of beach real-estate with a tent and a bonfire. No doubt they had watched my surfing hijinks for the last hour and I assume I entertained them fully. As I left to go to work I was very envious of these kids who probably got dropped off by their mom at 9am and had speant all of the day hanging at the beach, surfing, and causing mischeif. Sounds like a good life. | ||
