Comments:

Road the bike down to Sands under a heavy ski of smoke. The smoke was high, so we didn't get a whole lot of ash, and the air quality wasn't too bad, but the whole day was very dark as if it was sunset all day. The water was so great. Clean and clear and a soft bluish tint to it. The foam was soft and thick and really white. A gentle offshore was combing everything into perfection, it really was awesome conditions if we had any real swell.

Two guys out when I arrived and over a dozen by the time I left. Waves were few and far between but very fun when they came. Rights and lefts, with the lefts offering much more fun. The session did not seem like Sands at all. Because the water was so clean and blue, and the smoke was all above, it was very much like I was surfing in a foreign country. Even the other surfers out there with me with were friendly. Surfed for about an hour and rode back.
