- Point Loma, 12/21-12/22/99
A fitting place to get my last few for the year, the decade,
the millenium. Out going tide, light offshores, healthy kelp
bed keeping the newly arrived swell just right. Surfed the left
over boils until the lower tide let my favorite wave show its
face, the right at the face of the cliff. What a session.
- Miami Beach, 9/?/99
Hurricane Floyd showed its ugly face and blew a kiss
at us. Waking up an offshore reef that had been resting
for too long. Winds were hard offshore. Waves were well
overhead. Crowd non-existant. The lefts were peeling fast
and long, well worth the trouble with the offshore and the rip.
- Punta de Mita, Nayarit, Mexico, 8/22/99
Beautiful coast, beautiful waves. Near solo session. Winds were
perfect all day. Waves a little overhead peeling right with bowling
sections. And to top it off (desperation surfing at its best) a four
star wet bar over looking the point with plenty of Modelo Negras
chilled and waiting.
Thanks for allowing me to reflect on how good this year really
has been!
