Best Surfs of 1999
by Kevin McKee
All my best days had good-but-not-epic surf but were all nice days and most importantly, were uncrowded.
  1. Father's Day at Rincon.
I usually avoid the Con like the plague due to crowds and vibes but this day had only about 8 guys in the cove (plus me) for about an hour. Chest high west swell and super fun - great Father's day!

  2. A warm and sunny Sunday afternoon in December at Hammies.
Another one of those "only 6 guys out for about an hour before the crowd showed up" kind of days. Shoulder high and fun. One of the 6 was Shaun Tomson and unlike most pros was definitely not hogging all the waves, but definitely was shredding.

  3. Lunch hour go-out last winter at Campus.

I think the stu's were on vacation or something because there were only about 3 or 4 other guys out - warm and sunny and head high and better than usual form. Too bad I only had an hour!
