Best Surfs of 1999
by MiffMole
I've been working on this one, and i just can't do it. There were not many days that truly stand out at the end of the year, just a blur of fun and good times. Not too many serious workings, very few skunkings, mostly good crowd vibes, and lots of satisfying waves. Definitely one of my best years for surfing, even without the standout days. That said, here goes:
  1. The first day out with my new board stands out, even though I surfed worse than kooky. Just the fun of a new toy.

  2. The First session after being frighteningly sick -- good for recovery and perspective.

  3. One day about 2-3 months ago at (yes, really) C-Street, cranking the biggest hardest bottom turn of my life on the outer peak after a 2x drop. The rest of the session (and the wave) were unmemorable, but fun.
