Best Surfs of 1999
by Napalm
  1. Macaronis, Mentawai, Indonesia (July 99)
Had one morning sesh out there while everyone else ate breakfast. Eventually altruism, or the fact that nobody got see my best tube ;), got the better of me, and I paddled back to the boat to let the lads know exactly what they were missing.

  2. Secret spot, KZN North Coast, SA (mid-year?)
My secret bay, just me and three mates out, dredging barrels for hours on end.

  3. Cave Rock, KZN South Coast, SA (October?)
Possibly the biggest waves I rode in 1999, and without a doubt the heaviest. Out-of-season swell with big, booming pits everywhere, heavy drops and 50% of the waves ending in full decompression blow-outs. My leash string ripped through my tail on one particularly memorable beating.
