The Surfrat Diaries -- August 25th

Didn't even check the surf today. I knew it'd be crappy. The fog rolled in last night and the wind picked up with a vengeance. Junk says that's from the high moving inland. I think it's Coyote being a jerk and ruining perfectly good conditions just because he hates surf. It's true he lost his first wife to the surf, but still...

Anyway, I drove over the hill and saw Johnny. He'd gotten a good deal on my asphalt surf memory. That should keep me supplied for a while. He was doing good business testing repellers. More than he could handle apparently since he offered me some work. But I don't need it now that I got fundage off my memory.

A lot of surfers are real worried. The eco's are loving it though. They hate us, think we damage the environment and all this other shit. Don't know why they think that, I for one don't give a shit about the environment so how could I be damaging it? Anyway, I'm starting to think Zip may be right, else why would the eco's be so into it?

Later I saw Junk. He had put together some sort of shark tracking device. It looked like a watch with a piece of wire attached and another little box hanging off the strap.

"The hell you want me to do with that?!" I asked when he showed it to me.
He's crazy if he thinks I'd paddle out with that thing. I suppose I might for some good fundage though, and if there were any waves.
